Homecoming

On October 5-6, Covenant’s campus will be buzzing with excitement as the College welcomes alumni back to the mountain for Homecoming 2007. Join us for a weekend full of activity, including much-loved favorites such as Jazz on the Overlook, faculty follies, alumni soccer games, a James Ward concert in the Great Hall, and Burning at the Stage. Click here to pre-register.

The Neal Conference

The annual Neal Conference ended on Friday, with record attendance at every event, which included appearances by the Archbishop of the Anglican Church of Uganda, The Most Reverend Henry Luke Orombi, as well as Mindy Belz, editor of World magazine, and musician Phil Wickham. President Nielson reflects on the impact of the Archbishop’s words and witness during the week, as he met with and ministered to many students and local church leaders: “His call to true faith, true obedience, and true witness challenged and inspired the Covenant community, as we not only heard his ringing messages but also saw into the heart of a man who loves the Lord Jesus Christ and the church.”

New Video of President Nielson

Many have met President Nielson, heard him speak in formal settings, or read brochures or letters from him. He is now in his fifth year as president, and the alumni office wanted to show you a more casual side of him. This three-minute video, filmed this spring by Steve Smallman ‘85, asks seven questions that we felt most people might ask if they could have a couple minutes with him. Mountain Affair 2007

Covenant’s annual talent show, Mountain Affair, is a time when some of the College’s best student performers wow the audience in competition for the coveted first place award. Click here to watch the live video stream.

Thorn: An Anthology

In addition to the weekend’s scheduled events and entertainment, Homecoming also kicks off the release of Thorn: An Anthology to the Covenant College community. Thorn: An Anthology includes the best of Covenant’s annual fine arts publication from 1970 to the present. Enjoy 100+ pages of poetry, short prose, photography,
and artwork by students and faculty, as well as a “Where Are They Now” index of contributors. The anthology is warmly dedicated to Dr. Nicholas P. Barker, who helped cultivate the College’s rich literary and artistic culture. Covenant College is proud to present a brilliant bouquet of poetry, prose, and artwork to the community for consideration once again.
